Another Handmade Pressie

This time it was for Noah’s little  (or not so little – she’s nearly as tall as him!) sister (and our niece!) Alexia. Jump over here to see what I made for Noah’s birthday. I picked up some relatively inexpensive tea set pieces… actually, all along I’ve been calling it a tea set, but I realised there is no teapot! Perhaps I should be calling it a picnic set!.. but all the pieces were in that yucky netting stuff that breaks with one swift rip, so I decided a little bag and matching picnic blanket (or mini table cloth) would be just the ticket.

I added “Alexia’s Tea Set” using  the same t-shirt transfer paper I used here but this time I ironed the print onto some co-ordinating fabric. Hopefully this little bag lasts a bit longer than the rubbishy packaging the pieces came in! And I’ve been told it’s already had some good use not only by Lexi, but also Noah (who dressed for the occasion in a crown and jewels from a dress up set that was also a present for Lexi!).

The moment of reveal!

rebekah - I love this idea! Will definitely keep this in mind for Christmas time! :) Thanks for sharing Jess – looks amazing as always!

ingrid - What a beautiful gift! I love colours and the polka dots.

jess - Thanks Ingrid! I just popped over to your blog and I LOVE it! Will definitely be adding you to the RSS feed! Having snooped through your blog I can safely say that you’ll appreciate that the fabric I used for the little bag (both the red AND the blue) were vintage sheets :)
